The opening marks another strategic milestone in Dusit’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Japan’s tourism and hospitality market. With the launch of WE Hotel Toya, Dusit Collection, Dusit aims to deliver a premium hospitality experience that blends Thailand’s signature gracious hospitality with Japan’s rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural landscapes.

The hotel is situated along the shores of Lake Tōya, a volcanic caldera lake located within the UNESCO Global Geopark Toya-Usu in southwestern Hokkaido. Approximately a 100-minute drive from New Chitose Airport, the property offers an ideal retreat for travelers seeking tranquility surrounded by nature.

Lake Tōya is renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery, volcanic landscapes, natural hot springs, and ever-changing seasonal beauty. These natural attractions serve as the foundation of the hotel’s concept, which emphasizes harmony with its surrounding environment.

The property was designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates, the internationally acclaimed architectural firm behind landmark projects including the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo and the V&A Dundee Museum in Scotland.

Its architectural concept highlights the use of natural materials, warm textures, and contemporary Japanese design, creating a seamless connection between the hotel’s interior spaces and the surrounding lake, forests, and mountains.

WE Hotel Toya, Dusit Collection features 55 guest rooms, all offering panoramic views of Lake Tōya. The resort also includes three two-story private villas, designed for families and small groups seeking greater space and enhanced privacy.

Each guest room measures approximately 37 square meters and is equipped with a private open-air bath, allowing visitors to enjoy a traditional Japanese soaking experience while overlooking the lake. Guests also have access to a spacious public bath featuring open-air views, one of the hotel’s signature wellness facilities.

Following its integration into the Dusit Collection portfolio, the hotel’s culinary offerings have also been refreshed. Dusit has introduced a dining concept that combines authentic Japanese flavors with signature Thai influences, using the finest seasonal ingredients sourced from Hokkaido.

EZO Cuisine serves Japanese dishes prepared with international culinary techniques while showcasing locally grown produce and premium ingredients from Hokkaido. During breakfast, guests can choose between Japanese and Thai specialties featuring premium Hokkaido rice, fresh vegetables, locally produced dairy products, seasonal juices, and herbal teas.

For lovers of Thai cuisine, The Noodle Bar offers authentic favorites such as Tom Yum Noodle and Khao Soi, the iconic Northern Thai coconut curry noodle dish popular among international travelers.

Meanwhile, TARU Bar features a curated selection of organic teas from Kyoto, premium sake, Japanese whisky, and other local beverages. Toya Bar provides a sophisticated setting where guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails while taking in sweeping views of Lake Tōya.
