Faktaindonesianews.com – X Square Robot, a Chinese startup specializing in embodied artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent robotics, has announced the successful completion of four consecutive funding rounds through its Series C financing. The latest investment has boosted the company’s valuation to more than US$2.8 billion (approximately Rp45 trillion), making it one of the most valuable embodied AI startups in China.
The milestone further strengthens X Square Robot’s position as a leading player in the rapidly growing AI-powered robotics industry. The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate the development of core technologies, expand research capabilities, and speed up the deployment of intelligent robots across a wide range of real-world applications.
The latest funding round attracted several prominent strategic investors and venture capital firms. IDG joined the company’s Series C financing, while HongShan and Xiaomi continued their support as existing investors from earlier funding rounds.
In addition, X Square Robot has previously secured investments from several of China’s largest technology companies, including Alibaba, ByteDance, Meituan, and Xiaomi. With this backing, the company has become the only embodied AI startup in China to receive investment from all four major Chinese technology giants at different stages of its development.
Wang Qian, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of X Square Robot, said the company deliberately chose a challenging path from the beginning by developing its own foundational AI models instead of simply building applications on top of existing technologies.
According to Wang, that long-term strategy is now beginning to deliver meaningful results. Significant investments in AI foundation models, high-quality data systems, and real-world robotic deployments have driven substantial progress in the company’s technological capabilities.
The newly raised funds will primarily be invested in advancing embodied intelligence, a field of AI that enables machines to understand, interact with, and adapt to the physical world in ways that resemble human behavior.
Founded in 2023, X Square Robot has developed an integrated AI ecosystem that combines proprietary foundation models, robotic hardware, and an end-to-end data pipeline. This approach enables its robots not only to execute predefined commands but also to learn from experience, adapt to changing environments, and independently perform a wide variety of tasks.
In April 2026, the company introduced WALL-B, its latest AI foundation model built on the World Unified Model architecture. The technology is designed to allow robots to simultaneously integrate visual perception, language understanding, environmental prediction, and action planning within a single unified system.
Unlike conventional AI architectures that separate vision, language, and action into different modules, WALL-B enables robots to develop a more comprehensive understanding of their surroundings, allowing them to make more accurate decisions in complex real-world scenarios.
Alongside WALL-B, the company also released WALL-OSS-0.5 and WALL-WM as open-source software. These technologies are designed to improve robots’ capabilities in object manipulation, environmental understanding, and predictive reasoning by integrating visual, language, and behavioral data.
X Square Robot has also built an automated data management system covering data collection, cleaning, annotation, and quality control. This infrastructure serves as a critical foundation for accelerating AI model training while generating high-quality datasets from diverse real-world environments.
Today, the company’s technology has been deployed across multiple industries, including household services, logistics, and manufacturing. One of its most notable implementations is a partnership with 58.com to introduce AI-powered cleaning services in Beijing and Shenzhen.
Under the initiative, intelligent robots work alongside human cleaning staff to assist with residential maintenance tasks. The company has also launched the X Family Member Program, an initiative that places robots in households for one month to assist with daily activities while collecting valuable interaction data from real home environments.
According to Wang Qian, deploying robots directly into people’s daily lives is essential for improving embodied AI. Data gathered from everyday interactions continuously enhances the underlying AI models, enabling robots to become smarter, more adaptive, and better suited to real-world situations.
Wang believes the future of artificial intelligence extends far beyond the digital world. He sees the next generation of AI emerging through the seamless integration of robotic hardware, advanced foundation models, and high-quality real-world data, allowing intelligent machines to become an integral part of everyday human life.
